Limited Spots Remain for June 12 Darris Nichols Basketball Camp at Radford University

The four-day camp is open to all genders aged 6-15

RADFORD, Va. – Limited spots remain for the Darris Nichols Basketball Day Camp at Donald N. Dedmon Center, June 12-15, 2023. The four-day camp is open to all genders aged 6-15 and will feature Radford Men’s Basketball coaches and players.

“Our staff and players look forward to working with young people each summer,” said men’s basketball head coach Darris Nichols. “It’s an opportunity for us to pass along our passion for the game of basketball and encourage participants to have fun and improve their basketball skills.”

Participants will learn and practice basketball techniques instructed by former and current Highlander players as well as the current coaching staff. A typical day of camp includes fundamental stations (e.g. passing, dribbing), competition of the day, 5-of-5 games, free shooting, games (e.g. Simon Says, Telephone), and Present Awards for the Day.

“We have a lot of fun at our camps,” said Nichols. “We don’t just work on basketball technique, but also communication and teamwork, and there is real camaraderie that develops over the course of the week.”

Parents or guardians are welcome to stay and watch each day of practice or drop participants off (hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.). Registration is available on darrisnicholsbasketballcamps.com.
